Portfolio
Superior Senior Care
The client is a senior home care business that had an existing WordPress Site. The Freeohio Group (TFG) was contracted for site updates, maintenance, and SEO. We also created a switchable customized mobile theme with simple navigation for mobile devices.
GEICO Suzuki
The client is a leading AMA Daytona SportBike Champioship Motorcycle Racing team with a highly visible outside-industry title sponsor, and a World Championship caliber rider. The Freeohio Group (TFG) was contracted to design a website that was represented both entities appropriately. WordPress was selected, as it gave the team the ability to post fresh content remotely via mobile devices. A unique theme utilizing image navigation was created to showcase team graphics and branding. We also created a switchable customized mobile theme with simple navigation for mobile devices.
Hurst4Congress
The client is a political candidate who recently decided to shift his focus from running for a State office to a Congressional seat. The Freeohio Group (TFG) was originally contracted to simply update the existing state site to national references, but content and campaign finance compliance issues required started from scratch. TFG went with the original CMS (WordPress) but rethemed it, and integrated Piryx for donation compliance. TFG also created integrated Facebook and Twitter channels and utilized MailChimp for email marketing. The original State site was well-indexed, so TFG redirected all the urls to maintain the juice.
An update late in the campaign integrated NGP VAN Fundraising and Compliance software.
St. John and Associates
St. John and Associates and Associates is a Civil Engineering firm located in Alabama. Their legacy website had early seo techniques like keyword stuffing, had no project gallery capability, and the hosting and maintenance was very cumbersome. The Freeohio Group built a customized WordPress site that allows in-house staff with no previous website management experience to easily make content updates and manage extension and WordPress software upgrades. CAD trumps WP. We also created a switchable customized mobile theme with simple navigation for mobile devices.
Alfresco Heating
The client is a patio heater sales and service business located in Marin County, California. They had a well-indexed commerce site that was running on an early version of osCommerce. The Freeohio Group (TFG) migrated the customers, orders, and products from the osC database into a new Magento install. The site enhancements include Paypal and Google Checkout payments, and an integrated blog that feeds to the client’s Facebook Fan Page and Twitter accounts. It runs on a not-optimized-for-Magento host specified by the client. While not blindingly fast – performance is adequate. Proof that it’s possible to run Magento with careful planning, without breaking the bank. The client has recently taken over the content and design of the navigation, which is the idea – more self-reliance and less reliance on TFG.
KTM Twins
The client is an industry leader in parts and accessories for KTM Motorcycles and had an existing eCommerce site running on Yahoo Stores since 2005. They wanted to move to a platform that was more in line with Web 2.0, utilizing optional user registration for wishlists, order tracking, profiling and contemporary social networking interaction. That, and they wanted to stop shoveling piles of money into the Yahoo Stores hole. The Magento administrative CMS is much more robust than Yahoo Stores, and is technically a much more capable platform than Yahoo Store. A Rackspace Content Delivery Network was leveraged for performance after the site proved slow as molasses. Now it rips! The site is PCI DSS Compliant which keeps both the merchant bank and the customers happy.
In 2012 a mobile-optimized theme was integrated, allowing shopping from both desktop and mobile devices.
Lindemann Engineering
The client is an iconic motorcycle suspension performance and engineering company that recently transferred ownership. The legacy site was outdated flash and html that was outsourced to a 3rd party vendor. The Freeohio Group (TFG) patched it to get through the transition, while moving to a more secure host and designing a WordPress Theme. The new owner had an existing presence on Blogger and wanted to combine blogging with static pages. He also spends a lot of time providing customer support at the racetrack and wanted to be able to use a mobile device to update fresh content from the track. TFG moved everything to WordPress, ported the existing blog posts from Blogger, and structured the site allowing both static pages and dynamic content. This allowed the client to post pictures of riding Paris Hilton 2-up onto the Tonight Show stage in a timely fashion.
Roadracing World and Motorcycle Technology
Client is a monthly print Magazine with worldwide distribution whose website delivers daily motorsports news. The Freeohio Group (TFG) provides site maintenance and modifications, Rackspace email, and enforces DMCA Compliance for their copyrighted material.
Service Manager Pro
Service Manager Pro is an online Powersports labor estimating site. As accepted, it was an out of the box and out of date WordPress install without customization. After gathering requirements and researching the industry, The Freeohio Group (TFG) created a custom WordPress theme that will allow them to upgrade moving forward, and setup a Google Analytics account which allows the customer to monitor site traffic and test site changes. What industry knowledge did TFG use? Black. Motorcyclists like black.
Baker Cooks
The client is a personal chef who had a static html site that was outdated and needed extensive modifications. The Freeohio Group proposed moving the site to WordPress where the client was in control. New site was designed using WP with a simple Paypal plugin to sell Journals.
OnTheThrottle.tv
OTT is a very popular professional motorcycle racing media portal. The previous site was running on Joomla 1.0 that required constant maintenance from 3rd-party developers, cousins, and shaman. The client wanted The Freeohio Group (TFG) to upgrade to the current version of Joomla and maintain it – TFG proposed moving the site to WordPress which would allow the video reporters to load content via mobile devices live from events. New site was designed using WP with eCommerce plugin to sell howto dvds and video downloads. TFG migrated the legacy Joomla database of 400 videos for client, and created integrated Facebook, Twitter, and Ustream channels. TFG also utilized MailChimp for email marketing. The site has a switchable mobile theme with simple navigation for mobile devices.
Team Hammer
Client is a professional motorcycle roadracing team. The Freeohio Group (TFG) provide site maintenance and modifications.
STAR Motorcycle School
STAR Motorcycle School is a National motorcycle training and safety school that provides training to the National Guard and to the public. The client had a legacy html site which utilized a form for registrations. The Freeohio Group (TFG) setup new hosting, email, and designed and installed a client maintainable CMS using Zen Cart. TFG also integrated Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube channels. After four+ trouble-free years the client has moved to another platform.
Apex Speed Technology
The client had a motorsports electronics site written in html/flash that was outdated. They wanted the least expensive and easiest to configure shopping cart to integrate with their existing site. The Freeohio Group (TFG) updated the html/flash on their legacy site with current information, integrated Facebook at client’s request, and created a WordPress site with eCommerce plugin with a design that closely matches legacy site. TFG also integrated Facebook and Flickr channels that are linked via rss, updated their BBS software and installed and configured Bot Scout. The client has since moved to another platform.
REMRIDG Wines
Client is a small wine producer in Napa Valley that wanted a simple shopping cart to provide a distribution channel to augment their restaurant and retail sales. The Freeohio Group (TFG) developed a customized WordPress site utilizing the eCommerce plugin. TFG also integrated Facebook and Twitter channels, and provided digital Holga images for the site. It was a beautiful, simple, and easy to use site that was unfortunately thrown out with the bathwater.
BBS
Client is a professional motorcycle roadracing team that wanted a bulletin board for use as in intranet.
Scuderia West
The client is a multi-line motorcycle dealer that had a legacy Joomla 1.0 site hosted on a mom and pop host that experienced a catastrophic event (their words) resulting in the site and backups being destroyed. The Freeohio Group (TFG) setup new hosting, email, and this WordPress site in one day that allowed them to make content changes as-needed themselves. In standard fashion, this “temporary” site was up for over a year because good help is hard to find. Free help is hard to find, rather.
